Either the Buffalo Bills defense is just a joke (which is likely), or the San Francisco 49ers offense is elite.
Any time you put up 621 yards of offense, I think it’s a mix of both. The 49ers got two 100-yard receivers in Vernon Davis and Michael Crabtree, Frank Gore ran for 106 yards and Alex Smith showed rare down field throwing ability in passing for 303 yards.
It was the most yards a 49ers offense had ever put up. More than 49ers teams led by Joe Montana and Steve Young ever did. You know, the glory days.
Add to the fact the team held the Bills to 3 points in 45-3 win for San Francisco, and you might say that this was the team’s finest overall performance in years. Better than its shocking win over the New Orleans Saints last January. It doesn’t get much better than that, despite the opponent.
But you know what, nothing has been better than how I’ve been picking games. I went 10-4 last week and I’m now 50-25 on the season. This league is getting more and more predictable in my eyes. I imagine that if I were picking against the spread, instead of just winners, I’d probably be hovering around 50 percent. But as things stand, I’m golden at 75 percent. Jump on my hype.
